Zoom Vinyasa Krama Workshop
Sunday 01st Feb. 1-4pm
Service Description
These workshops are designed as an evolution of the weekly class format for students and teachers who wish to explore the roots of Traditional Vinyasa Yoga in the lineage of T. Krishnamacharya 🌿 The sessions will complement any existing yoga practice or teaching style and offer unique insight into the origins of modern vinyasa yoga. ✨ Questions we’ll explore together: • Where does Vinyasa Yoga originate? • How does Krishnamacharya’s teaching differ from modern vinyasa? • What has been lost in translation and modernisation, and why? • How did T. Krishnamacharya teach Vinyasa Krama to my teacher Srivatsa Ramaswami? • How to refine breathing in asana? • What is the true purpose and technique of Pranayama? • Why is any of this important now? ______________ What to Expect 🌸 The Meditative Pose Sequence focuses on unique Vajrasana and Virasana (kneeling posture) vinyasas. These postures prepare the body for pranayama, meditation, cross-legged and lotus poses, and backbends. They strengthen the quadriceps, cultivate internal hip rotation (often neglected in sequencing), and massage internal organs. The sequence includes 22 postures with their respective vinyasas, moving through forward and backward bends with counterposes and special breathing patterns. After a short talk and “on your feet” warm-up, we’ll flow through the full sequence and finish with Bhastrika and Nadi Shodhana Pranayama . ______________
